Hey there and good evening.

Thought I'd write a quick message saying howdy.

Selt all my digital gear the other week and have been using an olympus 35rc and trip for a while now.
Been absolutely loving them and developing my own stuff. All my negs have come out messy etc etc but I love them.

I've been on the lookout for something a bit better than my oly's and came across a bessa r2a and noktor 40 1.4 on fredmiranda that was for sale. E-mailed him and bought it that night.
The camera looks mint.

Looking forward to receiving the package through the post. I don't think I have ever been so excited about something coming (and I've ordered A LOT of stuff) Not heard form him in a few days but as he's a working photgrpaher I presume he's pretty busy!

Anyways. I'm about to order some more film (only got ten rolls left 😉) and think I'll be using some of them in my new pinhole camera I made.

I look forward to contributing to the forum .

Cheers folks.

Hi Michael, welcome to the forum. I'm a Bessa user as well, R3M and Bessa T. I should sell my digital gear as well but my girlfriend like to see pictures I take of her immediately.

Cheers

Got an e-mail from Zach saying it was despatched yesterday and should be here by the 24th.
I'll give it the 25th/26th due to my remote location. If it does come by then I should still get to take photo's of the last two days of a Johnsmas Foy.
Last year it was 30D, 70-200 2.8 is.

This year it shall be my bessa, oly trip and might even try a few bits with my Kikkerland poin hole camera I just made.

Psyched 😀

Yeah, I spent years adding and adding to my SLR/DSLR kit until I finally found film rangefinders with a $15 Yashica MG-1 at a thrift store a few years back. SInce then I have sold most of the SLR gear off.. I just don't use it and I am very happy with a bare minimum of RF gear (Bessa R2A + 35mm f/2 Biogon, J-3 50mm f/1.5).

Hi Mabster! I went down a similar path myself - I started my serious love affair with digital SLRs and then found myself the owner of some cheapo Russian rangefinders, after falling madly in love in embarked on expanding my horrizons with an R2A. What a lovely camera! i got a pile of rolls off with it but then this pesky rangefinder bug sank it's teeth in further until before i knew it my Nikon D200, SB-800 speedlight flash, R2A and a few other things ended up traded in for a Leica M2 and a clutch of lenses. do i regret it? no way!!

congratulations Mabster, sounds like you're burning through film too!! keep it up 😉
