Exposing Eastman (Double-X) 5222 in the Leica

I shot these at 320. My next roll is at 250. developed in D76 for 10.5 minutes. for PP they are all brought up about a stop in LR but all the detail is there so maybe the darkish negatives are good. also adjusted black point and white point and that's it.

Someone commented (not on here) that 5222 was a "chalk and soot" film. At Portmeirion, (North Wales UK) I think it catches the spring foliage nuances very well. More on and more to go on my flickr. 50mm CSonnar f1.5 on M2

Thanks for that, I posted because I see so few Landscapes with 5222, street is very "in" at the moment.
I think I tagged all the flickr but maybe not it does get tedious even with a batch.
I am between darkrooms at the moment having moved recently ( it needs a build not a conversion) so am outsourcing 😉

They really look after the film, clean and flat, the scan is as posted straight upload. Really if I wasn't wet printing I wouldn't bother scanning at home. IMHO developing is easy it is the scan that is the killer step.http://www.ilfordlab.com/page/57/Black-and-White-Prints-from-Film.htm
 
Here is a European Vendor offering -preloaded- 36 exposure rolls of Eastman 5222 and Eastman Plus-X 5231! Glad to see somebody doing this! And the printed cartridges look cool 😎 3,14 and 3,34 Euros per roll. 10 cassettes of 36 exp Eastman 5222 28,64 Euros. Not bad at all.

Anyway tested ORWO N74, took this after the Friday Prayers near the National Mosque, Kuala Lumpur. The three guys are having cupping done to them.

Developed using ilford DDX, 11 mins, 20C.

Double X in Pyrocat HD. Standard developing, 15 minutes with agitation every 60 sec for 8-10 seconds.
I do a pre-wash for 5 minutes (plain water) and the 1st minute is done with cont. agitation.
Leica Super Elmar 21mm f3.4, K2 yellow filter.
The big "barbecue" on Jack Poole Plaza in Vancoucer. Usually only lit when politicians can make it a photo-op!!!

Ok thanks to Nokton48 i have decided to try to develop the XX like a Tri-X...so i have exposed the film at 400 Asa and then i have developed in T-Max Dev 1+4 for 6min. at 20°
The results are really nice to my eyes, i love this kind of grain and tonality, maybe the scans could be better but i'm not a Photshop expert so this is the best i can do...🙄

Thanks Andy, i promise you i will take some shot in Cinecittà with the Double-X and one of my Cine-Lens...trying to avoid technology and new car, so maybe we can dream for few seconds ^_^
