It is discontinued. From the Nikon USA and Japan websites:

The F6 has been discontinued in Canada for over a year, a friend of mine bought the last one to be brought into the country by Nikon Canada. The scuttlebut I heard was Nikon stoppped making them four years ago and was just selling through inventory. I highly doubt Nikon will build another film camera, they are at heart these days a precision optical company that makes really nice lenses you put black boxes with sensors on them to take photos.

The scuttlebut I heard was Nikon stoppped making them four years ago and was just selling through inventory.

That is definitely wrong.
Because in winter 2018 Nikon invited lots of international photojournalists to the Nikon Sendai factory for a factory visit, and showed them the camera production there. Including the F6 production there! The journalists reported about that.
The production continued until 2020. The main reason for the F6 production stop was the general camera production stop in the Sendai factory. This factory will be used for production of components in the future.

I highly doubt Nikon will build another film camera

And I bet Nikon will produce film cameras again in the future, probably in 3-4 years from now.
Because
- of the continued collapse in digital camera production (in 2020 the production declined by more than 40%)
- of the continued increase in demand for film and film cameras. Kodak and Fuji have problems to keep up with demand for about 18 months now. Demand is much higher than supply. Both have to invest again in additional film converting capacities (just recently again confirmed by a Kodak rep.). Even Ilford had recently difficulties with satisfying demand for HP5+.
In German TV last monday there was a report about ADOX and Fotoimpex. They have yearly growth rates of 20-25%. And therefore are also investing in additional production capacities and products.
The demand for film cameras is strongly increasing, with the effect of significantly increasing prices for lots of cameras (including the F6).

In film camera production we will see the same development we have already seen with the extremely strong revivals of mechanical watches and turntables: Lots of new products. Often even much better than former products.

Cheers, Jan
