Now, the BMW Performance Center is a bit further down Hwy 101 (from I85) than the factory grounds where the car show will be located. Exit 60, I85 at hwy 101 toward Greer. The entrance to the plant will be on your left--maybe a quarter mile from the interstate, and I think it is the second traffic light.

Do we get off at the exit that says visitors center to park & is parking free?

The parking is free. There will be a slight entrance "donation" for the local Red Cross to get into the show.
When you exit '85 onto Hwy 101, turn right. You'll head down a slight hill, and the entrance -- with dual turning lanes -- will be on the left. Easy parking.

The second half of the red is going down too easily! All of the month-long prep plans are down the drain. I'll cut the Barnack leaders on site after some coffee!

Looks like I am out! Turns out we have a bridal convention of some sort to go to

Bridal convention? She isn't talking you into making her an honest woman is she?
Best of luck to both of you David.
I'm at my hotel and relaxing after 120ish miles by bicycle with 40ish pounds of gear on it. I hope I can get this rig home!
I'll see y'all in the morning, lord willing and the creek don't rise.

Michael, Barry, we enjoyed the day together! Got to do this more often!
We just got back....great day for a great car show! Not a bad drive and the wheel chair worked out fine. Great Bratwurst and a lot of nice folks there, too.
Will post some photos next week from the M3.

I missed everybody! I was at the Zentrum's left side @ 11:30... Nada! Oh well, beautiful day and I at least did run into an old friend from PA there. More later, resting my aching feet!

Ah, man...as soon as I got there, I realized I didn't have your cell phone number! Dang! I hate it when things like this happen.

Jeff, I'm so very sorry. Maybe we need to come to Columbia next.

He told Liz and me that he has Monday off, and that he may stop by a friend's house in Dallas.

I'm home gentlemen! I got into town last night a little after 7 and stopped by my friend's house- the bike shop owner- to celebrate with a beer. Well one beer turned into two and then the remains of two jars of moonshine got polished off- apple and peach brandy.
I made such good time yesterday that I hopefully turned an 80 mile return ride into a 100 mile ride! And every piece of gear made it home with me!
My legs are thoroughly worked over. I still hope I can get out for an hour or so to spin my legs and ride something 50 pounds lighter. Thanks so much for the well wishes and positive thoughts and prayers. With all that and a good tailwind, I finished up a crazy bike tour with an epic final ride.

Oh yeah...Dave, it was great to see and the wife again. I hope she can keep on keepin' on for years to come.
Mike, it was also great to meet you and Liz. I'd love to know what that iPhone case was. I might get one like that when I get a 4s. Also, thanks for bringing the RD-1. That is an awesome camera. I think I'm getting GAS pains again.

Thanks a lot Mike. It was quite the adventure. The route I took coming back was much better than the one I took going down.

Hi all,
Thanks for the PM's!
Always a good idea to share contact info -didn't even cross my mind!
I also learned about shooting car shows...
1.) Don't overpack -you won't use have the stuff you bring.
2.) Too many folks strolling around. Too many placards. Too many open doors, hoods, etc...
3.) The venue may be better -My favorite shots were inside the Zentrum!
I have never posted any shots to the forum... I'll try to get something up from the show -and certainly add some to the Flickr/SE RFF pool when I have some time.
