Hi all,
I already have a Summicron v3 which I love and have never felt the need for the v4 or asph, but I often feel the need for speed!

I use to have the CV 35mm 1.4 which I liked (Not as much as the Summicron) on the M8, but when I upgraded to the M9 I found it focus shift'ed too much for my liking.

I've seen some images from the CV 1.2, and although I can understand its like comparing apples and oranges, I can only afford one lens.

I'm considering doing a swap for the CV 1.2, but need talking either into it, or out of it.

I know the 1.2 is a larger lens, and I know the summicron is tiny in comparison, but I don't mind the size of the 1.2.

Also, if there are any alternatives suggested, I'm not keen on minimum focus's of 1mtr. Although the lens is often used on the street, I like to get close sometimes for family photo's.

I have and often use the CV 50mm 1.1 (For low light and close ups mainly) and am happy to carry this lens around, and I'm pretty sure the 35mm 1.2 is of similar size?

As the summicron is worth more than the CV 35mm 1.2, I might be able to get the CV 1.2 & the zeiss 2.8 for around the same price second-hand....

That way I could have a nice walk around lens for the day, and faster glass for night time?

the 1.2 as a walkaround lens is okay if you're used to bigger lenses, to me the only caveat is you need a bigger space on the camera bag. to me the weight impacts more than the size, in fact, but it's fine. if you are fine with not having a compact 35, go for the 1.2 v2, better performance than the v1.
