New York February NYC Camera Convention/6th Annual Camera Beauty Contest

Sam,

The more ammo you bring the better. Only one way to fight: win.

I'll be glad to give the Pressman to someone who will use it.

So here's some trash talk: How clean is your Bessa II? As far as price goes my price is tied with yours. Did you pay tax like I did?

Cal

Cal,
It is pretty clean with some brassing on top plate. Perfectly usable, and produces wonderful images, just like Heliar reputation suggests. I had to pay tax, but in Suffolk County sales tax is 8.625%, and in NYC it is 8.875%. 😀

Sam,

Remember that last year you were our Grand Prize winner and champion. For many you are our role model, and realize that you also represent NYC and the New York Meet-Up.

You need to maintain your reputation for being "Crazy."

Sorry to burden you with responsibility. LOL.

Sam,

Brutal. :)

You win by a nose hair.

Bob,
Here is what I have in OM mount:
85-300/5 Soligor C/D MC Macro, 75-300/4.5-5.6 sigma Zoom-II are hazy. 28-70/2.8-4.2 Summatech Zoom with thin scratches on front element.
28/2.8 Aetna Rokunar and 28-50/3.5-4.5 Rokinon Auto Zoom.
Everything seems to work as it should. Everything is free.

Sam,
That bessa is a killer find. It looks like we'll need to have a sales tax consultant on hand to advice us.
My 24mm f3.5 Zuiko shift arrived yesterday. It is in nice shape, but the conversion to nikon F mount was not the most elegant job. I already started re-shimming it, and plugging the slot for the release lever, which was mysteriously left open. Another option would be to revert it to OM mount. So if you have a lens with OM mount that is totally shot, I would be interested in salvaging the mount.

HISTORY LESSON:

2010- Leica M-body Camera Contest

2011- Camera Contest (Made more inclusive with a broader range of appeal)

2012- First Annual Camera Beauty Pagent (Generous use of accessories encouraged)

2013- Gearfest 2013 (Self explanitory)

2014- Camera Parade

2015-Camera Convention

After suffering and recent experience of the "agony of defeat" I suggest that the 2016 event be called "The Camera Olympics."

Cal

Sam,

Don't be a wimp. LOL. The whole idea of the Camera Convention is to be over the top and crazy.

If you wimp out I'll remove the "Crazy" from your tag because it is not your true identity.

Cal

Cal,
What about my head? Thats where it comes from.:D

Sam,

It's all fun, but realize that this is a great opportunity to go crazy and get away with it. Nothing too strange or bizzare at out annual events. Remember it only happens once a year.

Also realize your leadership role. LOL.

Cal

Sorry I read it wrong, the 8th is the camera convention, I've been bad again
I got another Digital camera a beast this time.

Bob

Bob,

By definition my cameras are called "monsters." Now you are calling your cameras "beasts." LOL.

This year (2015) we are having a "Camera Convention."

I already shot two rolls of film with the F3P/Olympus 24/3.5 shift. What a cool rig. Been shooting in the subway at 800 ISO on Tri-X.

Also note that my LR5 skills are now utilized in making JPEGs for "Maggie's" blog. In the past I just gave her RAW files and she kinda just posted them right out of the camera. There's a big difference in IQ.
