EDIT: Just realized they are just the stereoscopic society, I imagined the royal part.
Good to know that I'm not the only person at the NYC Meet-Up that has delusions. LOL.
Anyways I find the most creative people are either delusional, or worse have delusions and don't know it.
Gorden Gekco one said, "Greed is good," but I say, "Delusions are good."

Anyways somehow I came up with a clever idea of creating a binocular version of an optical corelator I was working on, eventually got awarded a U.S. patent, and became "Inventor of the Year for Gruman's Space and Electronics Division. Not bad for a lazy slacker with only back then a vocational school education in electronics and a four year art degree.
Cal
Very impressive, but what does it do? Can you bring it to the meetup?

The smart weapon was early development for basically killing Russian Tanks. My idea took the technology to the next level. The patent now is so old that its expired.
I'll bring some documentation to the Meet-Up. Perhaps Pro-Mone can have revenge and butcher my old Chinese name, before I became "Calzone." LOL.
BTW I miss the Cold War and my old job. It was perfect for a guy like me who has the attention span of a rather small dog. Work was fun and inagine having a CNC machine shop at your disposal to make things. Only the best, I say.
I'm thinking of giving this piece of titanium that is several inches thick out as the trophy for this years Champion. It has been blasted with a ten amp electron bean that penetrated more than two inches of solid metal. Next year it will be awarded to the next champion. It's only a paperweight, but its a cool one.

New Beauty Contest Grand Prize
New Beauty Contest Grand Prize
I am donating a "Norwood Director" light meter as the grand prize for the Beauty Contest. This light meter was made right here in New York and is made of bakelite, and it is an incedance meter that was popular (industry standard) with cinematographers, hence the name.
The meter works, but needs a calibration. The speed scale is retro like on a M3-DS where its 1/100 instead of 1/125. What makes this retro meter so cool is its resemblance to a modern Sekonic incidence light meter with the swiveling head and diffuser dome. The striking resemblance is due to the manufacturer of the Norwood Director is because eventually becoming Sekonic.

Cal, I think you should donate your new M-Monochrom![]()
Because I live in a one bedroom apartment I have to make room for the Monochrome. LOL.
In dealing with "Woman Factor" I got the comment, "That printer is big," from the girlfriend when a dragged home on the subway (not a smart thing to do) a brand new Epson 3880 "Pro" 17 inch wide printer.
To make room for the printer I have to put the books I want to keep into storage. Don't tell my boss but I'm using some space at work as a book depository because space at home is kinda tight. LOL.

GEAR ALERT: Incoming chrome Leica M4. Couldn't pass up this "Shelf Queen" offered at Adorama for $599.00. It's overall condition is "E" but it was sold at a "F" price because it was unused and suffers from an ear-rat-tic shutter that has sticky slow speeds and a vertical alignment issue, nothing that a CLA/overhaul from Sherry can't overcome. The "L" seal is intact, meaning it likely never was service/butchered.
Anyways along with my chrome 50 Lux ASPH and TA Rapidgrip this rig is mucho bad ass. Today at my boring day job I'll be dry firing this rig to hopefully move some of that stiff grease around.
BTW I was fondling this new camera last nigh while watching TV. "Maggie" did not take notice that I smuggled another new camera into the apartment. LOL. Don't tell my girlfriend, but I already love this camera.

I know what you mean. I couldn't pass up on an $18 Minolta CLE, regardless of condition. Now you have two M bodies to raise your workstation to the right height for when you are all digital.

Thank goodness I have no money to support my GAS pangs.
'Cause there's a very nice Nikon S2 with 5cm f/1.4 in the classifieds. Along with a whole slough of other amazing stuff I'd love to buy.
So, dire poverty has its upsides.

Cristian,
As you know I'm diseased. At DAG I saw in their M-Parts section that they have the electronics for what I think are a CLE.
Generally friends don't give friend GAS, but at the NYC Meet-Up we do it all the time.
Call me a dirty old man, but I love Shelf Queens for no money. My Rollei 3.5 F "Whiteface" was a great deal for $999.00, but I had to have it overhauled by Harry Fleenor right away because I couldn't even get a roll of film through it. The M4 is already loosening up.

John calling me a "Gear Whore" has become a self fulfilling prophecy. LOL. I don't know if I'm the world's largest, yet.
An now finally after months of being good I regress. Anyways I found ouy that about 58K M4's were made and this compares to 225K M3's and 83K M2's.
Just wait till I pimp it out to John's dismay. LOL. It already has a grip. LOL.

John,
You should of photoshoped in my old 1984 Jeep Scrambler with the Corvette engine into the shot.
For those of you who don't know me I basically built an "Urban Assault Vehicle" when I worked for an aerospace company. This was before they invented the Hum Vee.

Cal
He only has a CLE rangefinder unit. The electronics are impossible to find. I am assuming they are not salvageable. Most of the wires were already detached, and without a good diagram for where they need to be connected, it is a hopeless task.
