fed 4 shutter problem

I have developed a problem on my fed 4 camera the shutter dial will not go clockwise past 15th sec also if you take the back off wind on and then fire the shutter the curtain does not travel accross is there anything I can try or is it the scrapheap any advice gratefully accepted

You may need new shutter curtains and tapes. If that's the case it's probably a minimum cost of $75, perhaps as high as $150.

If you elect to get a another Fed-4 instead, hang to this one until you are sure that you won't need any parts.

Oleg will replace curtains for about $30 for the curtains and the postage both ways will run $40-$50. If the camera is in really nice condition otherwise, with a working meter, it might be worthwhile to fix it rather than taking a chance on another used one. Otherwise, it will probably be more cost-effective to get a different camera.

Hi Doug, The drive pin on the speed selector has jumped past the drive pin on the slow speed timer. This is a repair requiring the top to come off and a common problem on Z4/4K's. Dave

Thanks for the advice can anyone tell me how to take the top off
I can see 4 screws which are easy enough to unscrew and the small screw in the shutter speed dial but how do get the other dials at either end come off do they just prise up
