I really appreciate the extra f-stop. In your opinion Roland, for a v3 S'cron, what would be just about the right price, if the condition were good to excellent?

Ok, so I guess the Nikkor and Canon are good choices too, and if I should buy, I guess the chrome would be most interesting, given the price.

Also, the Jupiter is intriguing, but I guess it is not what I need right now, because I need a lens I can start working with right away, and that I can trust in mechanics, optic and functionality. But down the road, as a second creative lens, the Jupiter sounds just right! But the price....is shockingly good 😉

Thank you for your kind words. Glad I could help in the past.
As far as Jupiter goes - some are better than others. Some just need shimming, others need more work. Sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes you dont. I have had a couple and they were pretty good. One I have now is very good. But with all of them build quality is not a good and they may have a little play in focus. But optics of Jupiter 9 are superb:

I am already strongly considering the Nikkor, it seems to be a killer lens, but everyone says the same: go for the black one... The only problem is that I have found no one for sale 🙂 So, I don't even know how much money it should cost...

Thank you again, I always check in on the Konica forum here, in my heart, I have a weak spot for the Hexanons. They were kind of my first love, in rangefinder photography, and they really did a great job on that Epson...

Canon 85/2 "Serenar" on the Leica M8.

The Canon 85/2 goes in the $150 range. Mine was hazed over when bought, cleaned it myself. All of the optical surfaces are hard-coated, and cleaned without leaving marks. It is as big and heavy as the first generation Summicron 90/2. I have one of those as well.
 
I have 3 long lenses for my M8: 90 Tele Elmarit, 90 Elmarit M, and a 135 Elmarit. The 90 Elmarit M is hands down the best as far as IQ goes. It is a great lens. My 135 Elmarit with goggles replaces a DSLR most of the time and, at $350, is the best bargain. It is heavy though and has a long focus throw. IQ is good but not spectacular. But the effective 180 mm field of view is sometimes needed. So it is always part of my kit. My poor 90 Tele Elemarit is suffering from old age and abuse. I now consider it my soft focus portrait lens. It rode along in my jacket pocket for more than half of my life and now mostly lives in retirement in a drawer with my good old 50 DR Summicron.

And 1990s. Mine plays well with my 35 Summicron V4. Both are sharp, light and everything you would ever want for that "Leica Glow."
 
I am in the "90mm is too long for the M8" camp. Tried a 90 Elmar-C and really struggled focusing it. My longest lens is the popular CV 75 2.5, which I find a great deal.

This being said, the 90 Summicrons are indeed great deals, especially the older ones. If you find you can focus the 90 accurately, this is a lens worth acquiring.
 
The longest lens that I have used on my M8 is the Nikkor-P 10.5cm F2.5.

I am still without lens. I hoped to win the 90/2,8 Konica Hexanon M on ebay from an austrian seller. However, the price went pretty high, and I did unfortunately not win.
The bids started to get so high that I thought that at THAT price, I was not far away from other lenses I perpaps desired more.

So, I guess I will save some more, and go for the 75 summilux pre-asph. I COULD be tempted to go for the Elmarit 90/2,8 or the 90 Summarit, if that lux is too unobtainable.

I also guess I will scan and sweep ebay for good offers on the lenses you have mentioned for me, all seem to be superb lenses. So if I see something there at the right price, I will go for it!
It is a bit frustrating that I did not get that Hexanon, I really wish a rf tele lens. But I think in my heart that I will be very very happy if I could have that 75 lux somewhere in the future.
I will get back and tell you, when that happens, or I buy another lens 🙂

Yes, I think you are right, it is a great deal! However, I really would like the extra f/-stop on some of the other lenses 🙂 But at the right price, anything can happen 🙂🙂

What a beautiful shot, Krosya! I love it! This look sooo stunning, great drawing and magical rendering. I have never heard of this lens, you say it is heavy, is it a beast in weight? Congratulations anyways on an excellent shot!

Ummm--- There is no Summilux 75 post-asph 😉 And prices are rapidly approaching the 3000 Euro mark.
