FF Canon Mirrorless?

Three years late to the party, outdated sensors, and another new mount? Sony had ~6 years with E-mount and only until recently would I call the system "mature". Will we want a system as developed as FE is today in 2020?

Competition is nice, but I would prefer it coming from Panasonic and Olympus. Although Olympus is in a cooperation with Sony now and probably won't want to jeopardize their relationship over FF. Panasonic would be great - We might see Leica-brand FF mirrorless lenses with AF at sane prices.

Competition already comes from Panasonic and Olympus so why does it matter if Canon makes one as well? It won't matter if they are even 5 years late to the party if they do it right. Not everyone needs a system either.

Not saying that Canon shouldn't compete - but that I won't be excited about it. They have arguably the least ground game in mirrorless of any major photo brand. Pana and Olympus have demonstrated that they can do mirrorless well - I have a GM1 and use it from time to time. And I see plenty of things in the EM1 and GX8 that I would like in an FF camera. Canon's DSLRs? Not so much.
