50 Summilux is da DEVIL!
I have been doing some experimenting with different films and filters. Although I do not have a big collection of filters I have tried the following:
In the Leica IIf with 50 Summicron coll.
I've tried FP4/HP5 with B+W yellow 023 and red 090
My favorite is the FP4 with the yellow 023
On the M bodies I've tried 50 Summilux, 28 Summicron and 35 Summilux.
I have the yellow 022 but have not liked it as much as the 023 on the old Summicron coll. So I have purchased the 023 for E46 and E43 threads. Still working on a roll of Pan F to see what it looks like with the 023 on the newer lenses.
When ever I shoot I usually do not bother doing any exposure correction for the filter. Especially for the 023. It just does not seem to need it. For the red 090 I do tend to do a exposure correction of 1.5 to 2 stops. But if I want really dark skies and vegetation then shoot as she meters BABY!
So what is your favorite filter film combo and what would you recommend for exposure compensation?
