When I have a film loaded in my M6, it rattles when the camera is rotated around the length-wise axis.. Kinda defeats the "solid" build of the rest of the camera. Does your's do this?

There is no rattling from the film canister in my cameras (M6, M4P). Did you try with a different film? The canisters might be slightly different.

When my film is loaded and the film has engaged in the sprockets and advanced, there is no rattle. Try turning the rewind crank in the opposite direction so that any film slack in the cannister is gone, maybe that would help. The film cannister should not be moving. Is your "flower petal" thing on the base plate working correctly? That should be keeping the film cannister "up".

Yes, my M4 rattles similarly. It means your M is free of DX contacts. Consider yourself blessed. 🙂

Mine doesn't. Take up the slack, as saxshooter suggested. Did it load okay? Does the rewind knob turn when you advance the film?

Yeah it was the slack.. I wounded it the opposite way and now it's rattle free.. whew! I had thought it was my rangefinder that was rattling...

You need to order the VTOINK anti-rattle attachment from Leica 😉
