I have been shooting Contax SLRs with both Zeiss and Yashica lenses.

Last week, I checked KEH and found a Contax 167MT in bargain condition for $23.50 plus shipping. I've received the camera and it is in excellent condition.

I'm astounded how inexpensive I can find good film SLRs.

A corollary: No one will pay to have a camera like this repaired, with good ones available so cheaply.

What your "quality camera for cheap" story?

so...you are responsible for the decimation
of the contax slr on the big k eh? i was looking
at the aria....and the RXII, the RX with the
defective back....and the suddenly everything
was gone. Also gone were the planar 1.7, the
BGN Tessar 45/f2.8 under $200....

$65

I bought a box of EX+ to Mint condition film SLRs from the son of a collector who was cutting down on his father's collection while the father was away.

A Pentax ME Super, Pentax P30n, Pentax Spotmatic SP (original), Minolta XG-1, a few Zenit plastic Russian SLRs, and a Nikon F2. All for $100 dollars ... and they all came with one lens attached, along with their Eveready cases and straps.

Poor father who returned to that loss ...

I'm looking for one for my daughter, trying to decide between a $75 Canon FTb with 3 lenses or a OM-1 for about the same price, or a Canon A1 again about the same....

Minolta XK for $53, Minolta XE-7 $29..............

Minolta SRT200 with a Minolta 58mm f1.2 for $50
Minolta Maxxum 7000 with Maxxum 28-135 f4-4.5 for $30
Canon something old QL with 55mm f1.2 FL for $20
Nikon FM2n with Nikkor 50mm f1.8 AI, Nikkor 28mm f2.8 AI-S for half-off $45

that's all the "holy sh*" deals I can remember for now.. I do quite a bit of thrifting/flea markets though, lot's of things in and out.

Most recently I found a Yashica T4 Super for $3 dollars.. Fun stuff!

I bought a ZX-5 (Pentax) for $6.50 plus shipping. And I didn't buy it because it was $6.50+ (shipping) but because it had exactly what I wanted in a SLR. I actually would have paid 10x for it but it was what I wanted, and for that price.

The Nikon F from a Craigslist ad...It came with a Photomic prism only...$10
I was given an AF lens (Minolta 50mm) and traded that for the Plain Prism ($0)
I found a Mint condition lens at an estate sale (Konica $5) and traded that for the Nikon 35mm 2.8 right here in this forum and then added the home made strap...
I think I have about $20 in it...yes it can happen...
