Ok, I think this going to be a fairly ridiculous question, but...

Is there any danger of food contamination if I store unexposed film (in the containers) in my freezer with our food? Should I place it in a plastic bin for added safety?

The reason I ask is that I have run into an unanticipated problem. I have an extra freezer/fridge in my garage for storing film, and it is fine till the weather gets very cold. I guess when the ambient temps get cold enough (as they are consistently here in CT) the freezer will not stay cold and is actually warmer than outside.

I have a lot of IR film I keep frozen and decided to bring it into our home freezer till spring. Unfortunately, my wife is afraid there may be some danger to that and is concerned about our young children's well being. I have never heard of a problem with doing this, but I wanted to check to make sure before discussing it further.

I know the smartest people in the world hang out here, so this is my first stop in seeking the facts! :D

Thanks!

Now I can speak with the utmost authority on the subject! "While eating food which has been stored with film will not endanger you physical well being, it could turn you into a smartass" :)
