I've been looking for an easy and cheap way to use filters on my collapsible fed 50/3.5 with 36mm snap on filters. And I tought that it might work to get a 37mm to Xmm step up ring and slip the 37mm over the lens and then I would be able to use standard size screw filters. Does anyone know that this might work? I don't know that their might be a problem since I've never seen a step up ring. I hope that I've explained it clearly.

Leica made a 36 to 39mm step-up ring called a SOOGZ. It fits on a FED 50mm/f3.5. I got mine for $16 but I think they run a bit more expensive than that usually. Wouldn't do any harm to keep an eye out for one on eBay though. 🙂

Heres my solution, take a standard push on FSU filter and knock the glass out of it. Now it will press fit into the back of a 40.5 filter, although some are a little looser and need a drop of epoxy.Remove the glass from the 40.5 and now you have a neat filter adaptor. This works great as on a shoot you only need one size filter if you take the collapsible and say a J-8 along...........

That's a good, but rather expensive (mostly around 20$, that's almost as much as my Fed-2). Or have they ever been made or are still being made by another (cheaper) company? But I still wonna try to shove a 37mm step up ring on the lens and hope that it fits nice, maybe I should try to find one and measure the inside diameter.
