Hi ,

I have recently purchased Hasselblad 50 mm C T* lens which uses Series 8 filter. The other lenses are Hasselblad 80mm C T* (B50) filter thread and CF T* 180 mm f4 (B60) lenses.
With all the 3 lenses having 3 different filter thread I am confused as to how can I use a single filter system for all the 3.

I already have 77mm B+W red , orange and yellow filters that I wish to use for all the 3 lenses.

Is it possible to buy adapters fro Series 8 , B50 and B60 to use B+W 77 mm filters ?

Request your help in this regard.

Regards,
Abhishek

Possibly, 77mm is larger than B50, B60, and Series 8.

Back in the day, there were very few adapters for converting either the Hassey Bay sizes or series sizes to the now standard thread sizes. Generally, B50>52mm, B50>55mm, B60>62 were readily available, but other sizes required weren't. I remember adapters for Series 7 but not for Series 8. If they exist, they are likely 8>67mm or 8>72mm.

Yeah, you should be able to get the right combo using a converting ring and a step up ring (B50 -> 55mm -55mm-77mm for example). There's a B60 to 77mm adapter available from Tiffen at the very least.

There are adapters for B50 and B60 but not for Series 8. The best you can do is a 67mm to 77mm adapter but 67mm only screws in like a quarter to half turn on your 50mm. Try it before you buy.

The obvious answer, would be to stick to CF lenses, most of which use the B60 filters, otherwise, you can fiddle with adapters, but then the lens shade use can be problematic.

Exactly.

I have the SWC and 500CM with two lenses: Planar 80/2.8 and Sonnar 150/4. I made sure when buying the 500CM lenses that they both took the same B50 bayonet filters and acquired the right selection of filters and hoods for them. And I bought the three filters I use for the SWC, Hasselblad 63 (Series 8)*, and its dedicated hood too.

* If you're buying filters for the SWC, be sure you buy the Hasselblad ones, not just Series 8. The glass is offset in these filters to accommodate the curvature of the front element of the lens ... most standard Series 8 will touch the front element and can cause damage to the coatings or scratches. I'm not sure whether this is also an issue with the C 50 lens.

What I know:
Hasselblad made a B60 to 67mm adapter. I have one. It works on the CFE 80/2.8 Planar. This allows me to use 67mm filters on the 501 CM, Pentax 6x7 105mm & 150mm lenses and Nikon & Fujinon large format lenses.
