Sort of a pointless thread. But I had some free time this morning to play. And I'm actually relatively certain the title of this thread will turn out to be a lie. But I am hoping this will be the RF kit I use for a while. I'm tired of buying and selling.
The only real hole I find here is the lack of a fast 28 (I'm actually about to sell the one I do have), but I believe I can get by without one.
Now, I just need to find a beat-up M2 for my limited film use.
The lenses pictured here:
21/3.4 super angulon
35/1.4 pre-asph lux
50/2 zeiss planar
50/1.5 J-3
50/2 nikkor ltm
90/2.8 m-hexanon

Looks to be really solid. You have quite the vintage kit. Do you find the modern hexanon draws well in regards to the rest of the kit?

My sister declared she smoked less ever since she quit.
Glad you have your perfect kit. And with so few more purchases to go too.

The planar is sort of the odd lens out in this kit. (I've toyed with the idea of adding a 28 biogon some day).
But I really only use it for portraits. Depending on the subject, I'll use the planar or one of the older ltm lenses. I could probably send the nikkor 50/2 off to a new home. But I'm keeping it for now. Just such a solid feel to it.
Nice Kit... Especially the Jupiter-3 in the center.

Your sooooo busted already! First post you mention your tired of buying & selling yet you already see the need of a M2, a fast 28 (you know you want one) & are selling the 28 you do have! Just admit that there's no hope for any of us
This is why I like this place so good!
BTW the kit is lovely. If I can ever free myself up to get a cv 75/2.5 I'll be good!

+1 for nice kit, I also like the range of lenses you have as well, not just focal lenghts, but renditions from various manufactures: CV/Leica/Zeiss, Nikkor/jupiter. this is an interested of mine as well.
Personally, the only thing I would do, is drop a lens and add another RF; I'm just so damn tired of changing lenses in the field.

Wait for the CV 75/1.8

... likes film again.
21/3.4 SA-M and 35/1.4 Summilux-M are pretty awesome with the M8.
Now add a very fast 50mm (I mean really fast !) and you should be done for a while (after buying the M2 of course !)

You need 3 50's?`

I need two for sure. The 50 planar and the two older lenses draw quite differently. I may not need to keep both the nikkor and jupiter 3, but they were both cheap enough that I don't see all that much value in selling them. If either goes, it will be the nikkor.
As for a really fast 50, Maddoc, I just don't find myself needing one. I really only use the 50s for portrait work, and f/2 is all I need for that. Sometimes I'll use the J3 wide open, but that's more of a rarity.
The 75/1.8, however does bear watching. I'd have to let the 90 hex go if I did that. So I'll wait to see the new 75 in action before giving it serious consideration. (In practice, I do like a 75 over a 90 on the M8)

The lens I'd like to get my hands on is the 35mm summilux pre-ash for my M8. Too bad the prices are outta control. Perhaps I'll end up with a Canon 35?
Nice kit, btw, I hope it serves you well!

Nice.
Quite a lot of long lenses there. How about a 15mm Heliar to widen things up?
I too have my perfect kit: M8 + 35mm Summilux ASPH & 15mm Heliar.
Much as I try to find another lens/FL to lust after these two lenses do everything I want.
You'd think I'd be content - but it's like an itch I can't scratch!

Now that I have the Canon 35mm F1.5 :
Mega lens! Nearly chose it over the 'Lux.
Only the handling let it down for me. I'd still like one though.

my kit, M8 + 15, 28 and 75.
my only complaint is Biogon 28 that I cannot code (6-bit) reliably, dam marker wont hold :bang: for CV's that are LTM, found M-adapter that has recessed dots for lens coding.
nice looking black M8 btw

Hah. Good catch. The lenses refused to be photographed with IR filters on.
As for the longish FLs: I did have a 15 heliar for a while, but I just didn't use it very often. I'm really not much of an extreme wide-angle shooter.
