Finally! Nokton 50/1.5 in M-mount

I've found the shade on eBay. I don't know of what make it is; it could be German from the fifties or sixties. It fits the lens very good, much better than the shade that is delivered with the lens. Cosina should copy this one and delever it with the lens.
The handling, viewfinder cut-off and looks are much improved with this shade.

Arg. I wish Zeiss would announce their offering. I'm seriously tempted by this lens - I don't have a modern 50 - but can only do one of the two this year. :\

Thanks - I'll try to hunt one down! It looks good.

Love the lens :). I fought it to the bitter end and I did not succumb to the lures of the beautiful chrome. Just could not justify spending the extra on cosmetics (not being judgmental...if money was not an option I'd have sprung for the chrome in a heartbeat). What is most important is that this lens is beautiful; it renders very nicely and I find it really sharp. Having used a 35mm summicron v4 exclusively for about a year, I must say that the sharpness of this lens was really surprising.

Will post some pics later.

For those using it with their digital M's, what coding did you use for this lens? I put it under 50mm Summ asph, because I couldn't see other options (i.e. the old summarit). Now at the widest aperture the camera reads 1.4 rather than 1.5.

Great quality for an even better price!

I just surrendered to this lens too and purchased the chrome version. It looks fantastic and I am surprised at how sharp it is. The bokeh really reminds me of the Summilux-Asph.
