Finally I can rest happily again, or is that rather start darting frantically around?

After some years WITHOUT an M, I finally had the sense to get one again...

Having owned M2s, M3s, M4s and sixes, I have now again an M4-2 here in bed with me... (until my girlfriend comes back home, that is)

I should add that I have actually had 2-3 years completely off as a photographer, until I started full time again in May last year. It took me 3-4 months of earning good money with some digital Nikon-stuff before I just had to buy some Voigtländer gear. Since then I have been thinking of getting an M again of course, but it takes time as I will not cash out for just anything...

So, this is an M4-2 in good condition, seems like it has never been in for service, neither has it been left too long on a shelf. Of all the Ms that I have owned in the past, I somehow missed the 4-2 the most - and that is why I have not got a 6 this time...

Tomorrow I will be off on a flight for the same ordinary d-SLR job, but I will just have to get some time in between for hunting iMages again!

And it is GREAT that a forum like this has popped up since last I was around!

Thanks! And congrats with the workshop... ;-)

When I came home I noticed that the wax seal on top of the mount still is intact, with a small c stamped in it. I know that these get replaced when it is serviced, but it still feels like this M has been used in the optimum way. That is regular use, and not too long on a shelf...

I remember having an M3 for a short period in the mid 90-ties that had about a million exposures... Been used by a photographer in Adresseavisa since it was new - and never been in for any kind of service!

Another fun thing was buying an M2 in Stockholm the same year, I had 5-6 to choose from. When you line them up like that and compare, you really get to feel and hear how different they turn after lots of use and service...

And I like the smell of this one - has not been out in the rain too much. I even had my girlfriend smell it when she came home, haha!
