finding a swell bag for my M

I use a Domke F5Xb with my Leica M4-2, 35mm, Minolta lightmeter and some film.

This is how it looks:

I'm not sure if to get the Hadley Pro or the Hadley large, I want it hold 2 M Bodies (one with a VF), 3 _large lenses, a lightmeter, a magazine, maybe a book, a cellphone, keys, ipod, .. I won't be able to try the bag, I think. Does anyone have both?

The best camera bag

The best camera bag

I'm a camera assistant for TV and film so I must have hundreds of bags for every type of camera gear. My favorite for 1 or 2 cameras extra lens and film is the Filson medium field bag. I then bought the Billingham large Hadley insert. I love Billingham bags but they still feel like a camera bag to me and I have a hard time getting in and out of the zipper with a camera. The Filson small field bag also works with the small Hadley insert and is perfect for 1 Leica with extra lens in pouch and a couple of rolls of film.

tight

tight

well i picked up the domke j-803
a little tight, but i like the bag.
i do carry other things besides the leica
but it could use a couple of inches in width.

That looks like the ACAM-7100 cost is about 189.00 ¥ in Japan
Great bag ..... if the velcro bothers you you can always remove it or stick some velcro over the velcro to render it useless ... that make sense lol

The velcro is not so tuff sticking like on other bags ... barley audible.. refined velcro ; )

I just replaced the too large, flashy and bulky A&A "Sebastio's Reporter" with the 7100 / Oskar's One Day Bag and love it. I took two pieces of spare velcro that are "blanks" to silence the rip of the velcro closures if I am in a place where security comes a distant second to noise suppression.

I also removed the padding on either end of the insert by cutting into the bottom of it and replacing them with cardboard from a cereal box to loosen it up a bit. The cameras come in and out much easier now.

This week, I roamed the streets of New York with the "Oskar" carrying a 90 Tele-elmarit and 28 Summicron in the center, stacked with a M6 / 35 Lux Asph on one side and M3 / LHSA 50 Lux Asph on the other, both at the ready with shades in shooting position. I also had a Nikon SC-17 cord coiled in the mesh pocket, SF-20 in one pocket, 10 rolls of Kodachrome 64 and a Gossen Digi-six meter in the other.

The A&A "Oskar's One Day Bag" is not too pretty, very pliable and the right size for a shooter's bag. I needed an all black bag and it blends great with dark or black clothing.

My other bags for Leica are tan or olive Domke FX5A, FX5B, F3X ( serious beater ) and a F803 Satchel. I cut apart and re-assembleled the center insert for the 803 as it was too loose for Leica glass and now works perfect. I also re-located one of the canvas panels on the beater FX3 to easily hold two M bodies with lenses on while a third M lens is in the remaining lens pouch.

So basically, with the exception of my FX5A, all my Leica bags have to be able to hold two M bodies with lenses on ready to shoot. The FX5B is great with the M6, M3, 35 and 50 lux with film in between or one body, three lenses. The other bags start to hold additional lenses and a flash with the two ready bodies.

My girlfriend has tons of shoes, I have tons of bags...;)

I have to say the BBB is the best bag I've used to far (I used some other bags, that offered way too much padding. I even have a camaera bakcpack, it collects dust), granted I only shoot with one camera and one lense now, so my load is a bit lighter than some peoples.

I have been using this bag for over a year and this is my go to bag ALL the time for ANY occasion. I've used it when I traveled around Greece, Italy, France this past summer/fall and is currently helping me get around China. I've had it drop from a table top once (I have a friend who is a very physical laugher) and it kept everything in it protected. The bag has held up well through cold rain and warm sandy beaches.

I keep the following in it:
Center Pocket - M6 .85 Classic w/ 40mm Nokton MC attached.
1st Poket - Empty, unless I buy something out in town
2nd Pocket - 4-8 rolls of film with my Ultimate Exposure Computer cheat sheet tucked in.
3rd Poket - Lens cloth, a spare battery, case for my sun/eye glasses.
4th Pocket - Rolling tobacco and papers, iPod shuffle, playing cards, gum.
Front Outside Pocket - Book, map, poncho.
Back Pocket - Journal, cell phone.

... I just realized I have a murse...
