I just got the G9. nice. feels good so far. controls could be simpler.
Looks like I will sell my panasonic fz-20, which is awesome but BIG.

I just picked up a G9 too. First thing that I did was add a Richard Franiec grip to make it easier to hold, and slapped a screen protector on that 3" monster on the back. Seems like a fun camera so far, great as a visual 'notebook' to document this and that, and to shoot movies.
The article about the latest National Geographic is interesting, not only because most of the images in the China issue are shot on film, but also because it details how one of the images (Shanghai skyline) was shot on a G7.
