First Lens Dilemma.

One more time...........

For the budget hampered, Nikkor 50/1.4 & any Konica or Zeiss 35mm lens.

But that wasn't really my /dilemma/
I'm perfectly content with my 35mm lens choice; the Leica 35m f2 asph.

I believe that the C-Sonnar & Leica ASPH summicron would be the better choice. The Zeiss is is pretty large for a 35mm (f2 Biogon right?), and the only Konica I have on my 'wish list' (as it were), would be the 50mm/f1.2

Also rather the Zeiss over the Nikkor 50/1.4 - As I said above I don't really want to go out buying various different lenses, I may end up with one or two 35mms and 50mms, but the Konica M-Hexanon 50mm, the Leica asph 1.4 are the only two I would probably consider.

For the budget not hampered.. ;)

I also peeked at your FLICKR set. I suspect you will be happy with the Sonnar.

Although if you are looking to do Infrared with the Leica, check out the 1950s Type I Rigid Summicron 5cm F2 and Collapsible 5cm f2 Summicron. The latter can be picked up at ~$300. The Infrared Shift of the older Summicrons is unusually small, just about covered by DOF at F2. The IR shift of Sonnar formula lenses tends to be much higher.

Thanks for checking my stream,
Right now the majority of my HIE and EIR film is in 120 Format, (a format I prefer for IR), and the 15 rolls of 35mm I'll probably run through my Xpan II but many thanks!

I will keep a note of those lenses In case I do decide to shoot some IR on my M7

The C-Sonnar is a wise choice, particularly after taking a peek at your flikr stream me thinks.

Mike

Thanks,
Yeah it was a lens I've had my eye on for awhile, and having seen it in the real, handled it, It was going to be hard not to buy. I also think it is a wise choice for my style of /work/.

Thanks for checking the stream!
