I also just picked up a X-E1, hard not to do so at those 2nd hand prices. I though I'll just shoot Leica lenses with it but the focusing is just a bit too slow for many situations.
I think I'll go with the 18mm cos I was always happy with my Oly EP1 + Pana 14 combo.
The 35 seems a bit too narrow for me. The 27mm would be my choice if it came f/2 and with aperture ring, a digital Leica CL would be great

My first combo XE-1 and Fujinon 35/1.4 looks promising..
Compare to result from DSLR Canon 7D and 35/1.4L, not much different in term;sharpness, rendering,
So far happy with 35/1.4, yes to tight for street photo but It can be used for portrait or model as well.
27/2.8 equivalent to 40mm probably good solution for street photo

Decided to give Fuji a try for my mirrorless photography. Loved my 40/1.4 and 21/4 combo on my RFs - starting with 27 & 14 XF lenses. Maybe the 18 instead for a little while. Lot's of nice used equipment coming into the market. X-E1s are downright cheap for what you get. The first generation lenses, too.
I'm not looking to replace my DSLR - just don't want to haul it around on trips.
