Fisheye for M or LTM?

As far as I know this simply doesn't exist. It is more SLR terrirory, I would say. There are (used to be?) screw-in fisheye-converters that might work. There are no viewfinders for that, however.

Nikon-to-Leica adapters are quite common; they are not expensive to have made. Mine was by SRB of Luton. Then use any Nikon-fit fisheye. For a viewfinder, try a door viewer. Or guess.

Cheers,

Roger

Thanks guys. I'm aware of the Nikon adapters but thought there might be a chance that a dedicated M or LTM fisheye would be available. Will probably pick up the Nikon adapter.

Is there one available? Been looking but can't seem to find any info.

This guy is selling a russian fisheye 16mm zenitar. http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=143055
I'm not too sure about how's the quality of the lens but worth a look if you're interested. 🙂 I could even go down to take a look at the lens and post up a picture if you would want. 😀

@jusxusfanatic, re «Fisheye lens for my iii»

Since you love to eliminate your threads although people have given you serious and helpful answers, I suggest: Read this thread here.

You did it again!

[NEW, ready for elimination I presume, thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160038]

Canon FD 7.5/5.6 VS Rokinon 7.5/3.5 for my iii

Fine.

Yes I know I need an adapter.

Good.

Are they rangefinder coupled?

No.

And where can I find a viewfinder for it?

See above, 08-02-2005 18:56 CET.

Thanks 😀

Welcome.

The 16mm Zenitar M42 mount with an M42/LTM adaptor works well on a Barnack Leica; I've used this for some time now. Presumably ithis would work as well on an M Leica by adding an M/LTM adaptor.

As was suggested by an earlier contributor, I use a (Home Depot) fisheye door peephole, masked with black tape, as a viewfinder.

So the 7.5mm is basically not useable on my iii?

It is not «not useable» [sic], if you accept certain limitations; Raid gave you a completely correct answer:

The Canon FD is obviously in FD mount. You need Canon Adapter B FD to LTM, and also an adapter for LTM-M. No, it is not rangefinder coupled. The depth of field is enormous with this lens. It is a circular fisheye lens.
