gian,

nice shots! Particularly like the laundry and airco's shot for combining old and modern China!

May I ask: what scanner and negative holder do you use? I love the black borders showing the sprocket holes and the white around that!

Johan

these are scan of darkroom prints, scanned with epson 4870... I get the black borders with a filed out negative carrier on my enlarger

cheers

I've only used 100 and 400. The 400 grain in XTOL was not what I wanted. I mistakenly started with Rodinal, which certainly has a look that could be used in with certain subjects/lighting. I still have some in 120. The images above certainly make me more interested in giving it a second try. I know that I won't use the 400 in 35mm, but the 200 has me interested.

I shot a roll of 400 in my Mamiya 645e earlier today. Rated at at 250 and developed it in D-76 (1:1) for 10mins @ 20c. I'll try to post something later on when it dries.

A good, inexpensive film, especially under the Arista.edu label, but very grainy, with high contrast. Like many, I overexpose by a 1/2 stop or so.

Admittedly I've only shot a couple of rolls of the 200 so far I'd agree on the contrasty aspect but I'm not finding it as grainy as I thought I would. Latest rolls I shot at 160.

Surely if the contrast is too high you just reduce the ISO and develop in a compensating developer?
This is the 100 rated at EI64 and developed in Rodinal 1:100 for 15 mins, nice tonally.

Rolleiflex 3,5F Rolleinar II

And rated at box processed in Rodinal 1:50 for 9min
Not too bad grain...

Nice shots but almost too flat for my taste. It's all personal of course and I do not find the 200 overly contrasty but a bit, then again only two rolls so far so I've got more experience to put under the belt before I feel I can make a strong judgement.

Any use the 200 in 120? I'm liking the 35mm version so far so thinking of trying some in my Rolleiflexes. Freestyle has it but I'm placing n order for something else with B&H and am bummed to see they only have Foma 100 and 400 in 120.....wonder why?

These small attachments, direct from my hd, seem to be the only way I can get a clean/sharp image posted. Flickr just mangles them.

Foma has had breaks in the production of the 200, and a fight a long time ago with the naming, they used to call it T200.

A few years back in Prague, I was told they had some problems getting some ingredients, - from Foma themselves, you might hear almost anything.

Roger listed it as a film of note from the last century I believe.

It has been one of my favorite films, believe I souped it in Xtol.

Foma should still have a website.

Fomapan 100, D76 1+1, 11 minutes @ 20C.
Excellent and consistent results.

The 200 and 400 aren't actual 200 or 400 (the 200 is rather a 160 and the 400 is an actual 200 so I stick to Fomapan 100, which is a classic and proofed emulsion).
