Fondled an M8, and thereby seduced

Do I think the M8's overpriced ($7000.00 Aust) ... definitely!

Do I doubt it's reliability ... not sure?

Would I like to own one ... F**k yes!

Ssshhhhhhhh .... !

LOL: I didn't need to fondle an M8 Camera to be seduced. I simply read all of the posts slagging it off and decided that this must mean it's a great camera. I've read so many negative posts that it was getting beyond a joke. In fact my dealer, who would never sell me anything he wouldn't buy himself told me to ignore all the crap and get on enjoying it.

Now that I have the camera I can confirm that this is indeed a photographic tool of some substance. I haven't had any of the problems mentioned here and as far as I'm concerned it is the best thing to have arrived for ages.

That said, I've got to confess that I am not in the least bothered about some of the technical arguments that take place here. I add vignettes and colour casts to many of my images and indeed use photoshop to add as much or little contrast as I like.

I tend to take images that attempt to convey a mood rather than display the optical excellence of the camera. What I can say though is that the DNG files are superb in their original state, and as a starting point for PP they inspire me with confidence.

So, in my opinion those people who are seduced can reasonably be assured that when they take the bait they will not be dissapointed. Unless of course you spend more time examining technical issues than taking it out and using it.

I fully respect that there are many users here who know far far more about the technical aspects of the camera and therefore are more cautious about making this purchase.

:D :D   :D :D
