Kincella -couple of old favs from an amateur
Kincella -couple of old favs from an amateur
In another lifetime, over 25 years ago I was practising shooting photos of the racehorses using a borrowed Pentax. Thank god technology has moved on, as its much easier today. These shots are from the originals scanned with a Canon MP490 scanner recently. I intend to take my old Olympus OM2 and see how it compares to my DSLR with similar shots. Now can someone tell me how I get the full photo on here rather than a thumbnail?

Peter, these are exquisite! The color/tone is stunningly beautiful. Compositions are great. What gear did you use to make these? Thanks for posting them.

Thanks very much Jamie thats much appreciated. I actually used a Nikon DSLR on this occasion but with older MF lenses which I love - a 105mm and 50mm mainly for these images I think. Its funny we always crave the best and most modern lenses but sometimes the older ones have the most character. Besides I always post process to emphasize those lovely qualities. While I used a DSLR this weekend (My eye sight is not so good as it used to be and I thought a DSLR would be easier to focus) I have previously shot some similar shots with an M8 and Leica or Voigtlander glass in similar situations - cafes and the like which make for good street shooting as people are so engrossed in what they are doing. And shooting through glass windows will all those reflections helps with the character of the images too.Peter, these are exquisite! The color/tone is stunningly beautiful. Compositions are great. What gear did you use to make these? Thanks for posting them.
