Ted I stand to be corrected but I believe that's the ruins of the Sutro Baths on the ocean shore side of San Francisco.

Doug, thanks. So that's why it stuck in a corner of my brain. Lived in San Francisco from 1963-1969 and went there once for a look-see.

Kailua Bay, Oahu late afternoon

First post after 4 years of enjoying/lurking among more sophisticated photographers and computer savvy RFF members.

This image from a very new to me refurbished D7000 is among the first 25 images taken using various old manual focus glass accumulated over the last 40 years. It is more about a place loved than any pretense or delusions of photographic skills.

Still basically a film guy, but managing digital transmission from film to RFF web still seems to be beyond this aging luddite. Please feel free to advise if it would be better to return to lurking. BTW, 4+ years of experience observing posts of RFF members suggests that you are generally a uniformly capable, respectful and kind group of enthusiasts. It has been a pleasure. Thanks.

Don't. Return to mere lurking, that is. Learn the D7000 and post more images.
 
Yeah, join the conversation, GB3, it seems you're a capable enthusiast yourself (he concluded after seeing just one picture).
