I had committed not to make my girlfriend a "photo widow" when I met her in Havana a few weeks ago, so did not even bring a film camera. She had nights and a few days free when she came to Havana to represent her province in a cultural seminar and invited me to come on down for the week. I only photographed when she was at the seminar so had to stay local. It was color time in Havana where I already have shot a large body of work in b&w,
Dance school recital on Prado in Havana. I have walked down this wide pedestrian boulevard well over 500 times since it is close to where I stay and still find photo ops.
Santeria women in Regla throwing flowers into Havana harbor as a tribute to the Orisha or Goddess Yemayá. When in Havana, I always visit the church immediately behind us to pay homage to Yemayá.
Transvestite who stopped at bar on Obispo street and spontaneously got on stage with the band to entertain customers. I spotted her on the street and followed her until she stopped here.
"Until Victory, Always!" the quote that defined Che Guevara. This is close to where I stay, so walked over to shoot it in color.
