I get to marry her next week, but this week we celebrated her birthday in Joshua Tree with a pool and some desert scenery. The current Apple Fire was burning in the background, and the smoke in the air made for one of the most epic golden sunsets of my recent memory...

As I use post processing to emphasize elements of an image the approach I take depends a lot on what is in the image to start with. I love it when I manage to get this kind of color - subtle and perhaps a little understated but I think quite powerful for all of that.

A handsome scooter. Peugeot was about to open a dealership in downtown Saigon -the scooter capital of the world, but the deal fizzled. Today, you don't see many of them on the road.
