Frame counter loosing count

I wondering if anyone's had any experience of this problem:

I'm shooting Fuji 24 exposure rolls of film on holiday and I'll get to around 12 - 16 (approximately) shots into the roll and when I turn the camera on to take another shot it makes a whirring sound for a second (like the camera is rewinding or forwarding) and the counter resets to frame 1. I can then take however many more shots are left on the roll (usually about 6 or so) and the film then rewinds normally.

Any ideas?

Thanks for letting me know, I did a search but couldn't find anything. Hard to do things some times when on holiday. The link to the thread with a service schematic looks like it will do the trick. I'll give it a go and post back. I suspect is to do with me pushing at the back cover so the link makes sense.
