Fuji 6x9 $340 with 90mm lens

They've been selling a lot of beater Fuji 6x9s from Japan lately, they look trashed to me, everyone has cracked plastic.

I was never overly cautious with the ones I had and never hurt the plastic so maybe these were used in industry or a portrait studio staffed by clumsy people or something awful like that?

Hold out for a domestic one in better condition...

Hi Frank,
I saw this ad, so I posted it here. If you think that this is a bad deal, then I am glad that you give such a caution here.

I followed them a few months before buying my last one, there are a lot of "overly" well-used ones on the market. At $388 shipped to the USA, it is probably a fair price but for another $125-150 I bet you could find a nice domestic one without any issues.

Which is about the same price as with a CLA that the beater will probably need anyway.

A fully functional beater is not difficult to find for around 200-250$ here in Tokyo. As mentioned, they were used for group photos.

Well, except for the EXC+ grade - what a joke - the description does seem honest. 350 bucks shipped, let some super glue seep into that crack, go shoot a spotless lens. Sounds fair to me.

For the uninitiated, what on earth is a 3 digit shot counter good for? You'd never know how many times that has crossed 000.

the counter is x10

the counter is x10

So that camera, while maybe still an ok deal, is nearly up for recc. 5K service. Don't know what that costs or entails.

But a low count could also indicate a backwards odometer tweak, so it's probably best to buy these from a local known source.
