Hi,
My earlier post didn't come through.. so I am writing again. anyway.. I received my fuji645 today, autofocus model. My first impression is that, it is very noisy. When it turns on, off, or operates autofocus.. I mean whenever it needs to move the lens barrel back or forth, there is this loud whirrling sound, which is beyond my imagination. My old Nikon F801 is loud too, but this one is certainly at the different level. Is this because the camera has seen lots of use? The shutter count says 35, so, based on simple math, around 230 rolls of film (120) went through it. Is there a way to subdue the whirrling motor noise? Or is this noise normal for this model? GA645 users, please advise.

Thanks.
Jaemyung

It's pretty normal for the GA645 to sound the way you described. Don't let that detract from the fact that it's an awesome body with an incredible lens. Mine has seen maybe 30 rolls since new and sounds exactly the same.

You should hear the GA645zi. The motor drive could wake-up rip van winkle. But it does take great pics.

I have a GA 645Zi with over 1200 Rolls ilm through it and you are right it is noisey however it still takes great pictures and dosen' sound any worse than a new one. I guess I should send it off and have it seviced while Fuji will still do it. Dave

Mine is the same way. If it helps put things into perspective, I took several shots with it inside a store in Orlando, Florida and no one even looked up at the focusing or film winding noises even though they were just a couple of feet away. I did have one person ask me if it was a digital camera though... while I was loading film into it.
