Fuji OEM Leica M mount adapter

I sort of went a little nuts on the M Mount adapters. I received the Fotodiox today, have the Metabones due next week and the Fuji (because I wanted to try the corrections via adapter thing) is being processed.

I'd like to try the Rayqual but I may need to figure out which of these I like and am going to keep because I buy another. The Fuji may be a keeper for the on-board electronics, as long as it works.

First impressions with the Fotodiox, from looking through the viewfinder, the VC15 doesn't seem any different from the 18mm Fuji native lens, but when you compare images it's def different. I really like the VC35/2.5 on it and all three of my 50mm lenses (Leica and two FSU) all work great as well but I've not really taken them out and tried them in the field.

Since the Fuji corrects in-camera for all the misc stuff, is there some kind of chart for what to correct post process (or in the RAW adjustments in camera?) in LR or similar for these lenses? Or should I just eyeball them and be happy with the results?

My Metabones M Mount adapter arrived today.

The MB is heavier and I like the bigger release knob then the Fotodiox adapter. However, I found that my VC lenses stuck to it and required some pretty serious force to remove the first few times on and off. At first I actually thought I was going to have to wrench them apart or cut the adapter off the lens. :/

Both seem to do the same job and function the same. Just waiting for the Fuji now to compare and see if it's truly worth the extra money for the built in lens sensor bits.

The coolest thing about all of these is seeing the focus peaking live and seeing what your lenses actual focus areas truly are. I knew my VC 15mm had a pretty wide focus range, I usually shoot it at f/8 and 1m focus when I can and everything is in focus. It was fun to watch the peaks appear and vanish as I switched apertures and changed the focus.

Hurry up Fuji adapter!

I use Metabones and Fuji M adapters.. plus the Amadeo's Nikon S Wide and the Nikon S Helicoidal Adapaters in tandem.

So far no problems and has been a pleasure getting all my Nikkor and VC's S mount lens to work on Xpro1!

the Black Nikkor 135/3.5 looks... strange but damn sharp wide open.

Which of the adapters is your favorite in the end? I am trying to decide between the precision of the Rayqual and the convenience of the Fuji. They are both about the same price-wise. Since I will not be scale-focusing, I am thinking that Fuji may work fine. The lenses I plan to use (on an x-body to be named) are: Voightlander 28/3.5, Leica 35/2 asph., 50/1.4 asph. and 50/2.8.

I ended up cancelling the Fuji adapter order after it took forever and I got the Metabones and Fotodiox adapters in hand and could play.

So I can't speak for the Fuji or Rayqual. However, I like both the Metabones and Fotodiox adapters. Both appear to do their jobs well, and have only very slight Infinity focus issues depending on the aperture and width of the lens installed.

They both appear to be nearly identical at first glance with the only real difference that stands out being the wider tab for releasing the lens on the Metabones unit. I found that the MB adapter's surface that touches the lens itself seems to be more grippy and it took me a lot of force to get the first lens off after first putting it on there. Once I got it removed and put it back on it was much easier. So if you go that route, I'd put a few lenses on and off before you head out into the field to shoot.

I think for the price, both the Metabones and Fotodiox are worth having and honestly functionally they are no different from my experience. I've tried an old 90mm Leica LTM lens, my VC 15mm, VC35/2.5, Jupiter-8 and Summitar on it and all worked wonderfully.

I can easily recommend either of the above without reservations.

I am still interested in trying the Fuji adapter and seeing how the Rayqual stacks up against it but for now I am happy with these two. When I go shoot, I keep my two fave lenses on the two adapters for quick and easy changing.

Thanks. I'm leaning toward the Fuji. Can anyone give me compelling reasons (within the lens parameters of my question above), why I should wait for the Rayqual to become available?

Did u check the Fuji website in terms of their compatibility list? Lenses w/ rear elements that are too big and could touch against the electronic in rear of the adapter or lenses that are collapsible are on that list.

Yes, I checked the Fuji site, and all the lenses I listed will work. As a precaution, I would not collapse my Elmar. I'm thinking of getting one Fuji wide angle, then using my Leica 35/2 and 50/1.4 as my med-long lenses.

+1. after a while i found that a hawk's factory closer helicoid adapter was a much better compromise for me instead of the OEM fuji m adapter. i have switched over to using the hawk's adapter instead. especially since i couldnt mount my pre-asph 35 summilux on the fuji OEM adapter. it was a huge factor for me to ditch it.

I'm more or less set to get X-T1. However I notice 28mm summicron is not on Fuji M mount list. Are there other suitable adapter for 28 cron? I mainly use 28 cron, 35 summaron, and 50 summilux.

It's actually quite easy to know if the Fuji Adapter will fit with your Summicron or not. If there is not a rear elemente extending beyond the gauge of the lense you are fine.

I learned this the hard way when my 35mm Summilux pre-asph wouldn't fit with the Fuji adapter because of some plastic rear element that the lense has.

I use the Fotodiox adapter now and it works well.
