Downloaded.
Works as expected on my xp1 and xe1. But found a bug or inconsistency when I forgot to turn off the new af-mf mode...switch to manual only and try to use the afl button to do one shot af focus... The green confirmation square does not work unless I turn off this new mode.

Installed it on my X-E2 this morning, AF+MF function is amazing. Didn't have a chance to try Classic Chrome yet. Great job fuji.

Installed v3.0.0 on the X-T1 first thing this morning; it's all that and then some. No issues to report, and the new features are just awesome.
Kudos to Fujifilm for a great update.

Be careful to to mix up the uploads. Unless Fujifilm has changed their ways. It is easy to loose track of what upgrade ZIP down what. I create separate folders before the downloads to try and keep things straight.
That said, I am very pleased with Fujifilm's continued improvement of older products.
I like Classic Chrome and often use it as a tarting point for .RAF processing in LR.

Is this just a manual focus assist in AF mode?
Will it help with manual focus lenses?

I had the same question. Since I only use my X-E1 with manual focus legacy lenses, I'm thinking this update may not be of any particular use to me. Shame they didn't include Classic Chrome for the X-E1 - looks like something I'd use.

Not designed for mf mode operation really. More for manual focus tuning after af lock has been accomplished via half shutter and selected aperture is in play, so u get depth of field as well (if I remember correctly).

Over at fuji rumors website, Rico has a three part tutorial about these updates posted there. Below is the af+mf one..

nikon had AF/M mode with their AF-S lenses ever since. but it's good that fuji finally did it. only took a few years.
(this was NOT a rant)

The Mechanical + Electronic shutter setting is fun and useful. This was shot with the 35/1.4 at F1.4, 1/6000 sec, ISO 200:

I installed the firmware update onto my X-Pro1 yesterday and tried out the autofocus + manual and thought it to be useless. With peeking set to its best setting, I couldn't get the image to sharpen up any better than the autofocus did. Peeking on my X100s is much better and easier to use and is my preferred version. I suppose it's to be expected in respect to the age of my X-Pro1 as its two + years old technology and the X100s being a more recent design.
What I do hope is for Fuji to give us as much of the improvements that the new X100T has as that would help a lot. If they can give us true parallax lines in the way the X100T does that would be great. I was surprised that the X100s was missing from these firmware updates this time around.

Oh, just a quick question: when you half-press the shutter release, are you meant to keep it that way while using the lens focus ring? That's what I was doing, but is the wrong way? Are we meant to autofocus, let go, and manually focus?

My understanding is you keep the shutter release depressed half-way while manually focusing. On my x-E1, it doesn't seem to make much difference as the autofocus hits it on the first try.

thank you Saul, that's what I thought and have been doing. The way I c it.. This function af+mf seems to be what might be useful when it is too dark and it is focus hunting or it focus locked on the wrong object, say someone's nose instead of the eyes.. Anyway my guess

I noticed some strange behavior with the new 3.0 microcode.
I often shoot RAF + JPEG, sometimes the JPEG's bracketed for film simulation.
One would expect an RAF and 3 JPEG's as result, but my XT1 randomly produces 2 RAF's and 4 JPEGs from a single exposure.
Could anybody give this a try and see if they have the same anomaly?
thanks
