My wife and I are professional wedding photographers.. professionally, we shoot Canon 5DmkIII's, but we recently picked up a Fuji X-E1 and Fujinon XF 35 f/1.4R for some around the house personal work....
Here's a link to my wife's Flickr gallery, which will contain only shots from the X-E1.

Look at the highlight area to the right of his head. See the chunky mottled pixels? What the heck is this? I have been noticing my X-E1 doing this as well in BW JPEG mode.

WOW... I never noticed that before. When I look at my monitor straight on, I don't see it, but if I tilt the screen or hold it on an angle, I can see it. interesting. I'll have to ask my wife if she shot it in b&w or edited it to b&w in post.

Yea I notice it on my older imac at home much more than my new one at work. If I look closely it is there in many of my BW mode jpegs.
It really bothers me because editiing RAW files in lightoom tends to bring up some smeary shapes. So, ok no worries, I'll just shoot in the excellent jpeg mode I hear so much about. And now I am seeing a lot of this harsh mottled pixel crap.
Nice pics btw sorry to rain on the parade so to speak.
