I received my second/replacement X-T1 (41A085**) yesterday and will be returning the first one (41A024**).

There is no light leak and, believe it or not, the 4-way buttons are better on the body than the first one.
I have both bodies sitting in front of me, and the 4-ways and the Q, Menu and Focus Assist buttons have a discernible "click" to them that is not present on the earlier body.

Have you tried with MF lenses, and does the magnifier screen to the right work well? can you tap zoom in more?

All the focus assist features of the X-T1 are simply fantastic when using manual focus lenses!

You can choose between peaking in different colours, central split screen and a (smaller) magnified image next to the viewfinder image.

If you choose well and fitting to the different situations, it's amazing.

I love the X-T1. But I never focus manually with my AF-Fuji-lenses. AF ist really good and reliable. I only use focus assist wiht manual lenses.

Good to hear! Which do you find works better the central split screen (which sounds like a Rangefinder focus patch simulator?) or the "(smaller) (smaller) magnified image next to the viewfinder image"? and can this magnified image be zoomed in on to get a higher magnification?

I'm wondering how the X-T1 compares to the Sony A7R for manual focusing. I find the A7R is superior to my X-Pro1 in this MF respect. But this dual screen feature in the X-T1 sounds appealing on paper and Fuji marketing, I just want to hear from actual users if its really great or not..

Well, I've decided to not buy the X-T1. Why, well, I decided to invest in a better computer rather than replace two currently good cameras - my X100s and my X-Pro 1. What I will do is buy the telephoto extension lens to give me the 50 mm equivalent lens for the X100s. The X-Pro 1 and the three prime lenses are all I need (18, 35 & 60 mm ) so why move to the X-T1?
What I will do is by the highest spec iMac 27" with extra RAM & a 3 TB fusion drive to help with storage and processing of the image files.

Good choice! After initially choosing a 1TB SSD configuration I now run a 3TB Fusion full spec 27".
There is no difference in performance between the two using the applications I have installed.
Stretch the RAM as far as you can is good advice.

The Fusion drives do increase speed. And I echo the RAM suggestion as well..

Interestingly, Fujifilm has just released a new firmware update for the X-E2 that incorporates some of the features of the X-T1 like a much faster refresh rate and more focus peaking options for MF assist. Kudos to them not forgetting about those that bought the X-E2 before the X-T1 was announced. I couldn't see the point in trading in my X-E2 for the new model and loose easily $400 for a camera that has a few extra tweaks, tilting LCD and better analog style controls. Plus the X-E2 has a built-in flash, the X-T1 does not. Guess I'm rationalizing to avoid GAS.

I run 16GB RAM on a 1 TB Mac Mini fusion with a 1 TB SD Thunderbolt exclusive to photos and videos, external and a 24" Asus photo monitor. Screaming fast. Very accurate.

Made by a different type of apple than a Fuji.

On second thoughts, I'd go for 8 Gb's memory and buy an upgrade from Crucial. Cheeper than Apple and that would allow me to go for the faster processor.

Sorry, haven't been here for a while.

Yes, I use Fuji AF lenses and Leica and Voigtländer (as well as other) manual lenses. Focussing with manual lenses is great with the X-T1, much better than with my X-E1.

Lenses that are optimised for conrast should be used with low peaking settings, lenses that are less contrasty benefit from high settings.

The peaking colours should be adjusted to the colours of the subject you take a photo of.

It is a matter of personal preference, but I like peaking the best, then split-screen and then the additional image at the side.
