X-T1: “The EVF is the best on the market!” (anonymous source) 93 COMMENTS 1 best EVF on the market for the weather sealed X (X-T1)? One of the key features of the upcoming X-T1 will be the EVF. An anonymous source (thx for sharing) told me that even EVF haters will have to admit that the EVF on the “new Fuji T camera” is “pretty damn nice”. So what makes it so special? The source said that on the “new Fuji T camera the new EVF is big and beautiful and the refresh rate is the best I’ve ever seen. Really. Greatest EVF on the market… Some cool tricks in the EVF.” The source also said that “anyone thinking of getting an OM-D should hold off until the end of the month. So worth the wait.” Message to anonymous sources: feel free to give yourself a fake name when you drop me messages via rumor box, so that I can recognize you in future, in case you decide to share information again. Here are the rumored specs: bigger (extra-large) and better (high performance) EVF / (trusted + anonymous sources) APS-C X-Trans sensor II (16MP) / (trusted + anonymous sources) double SD-card slot / (trusted sources) weather sealed body / (trusted sources) announcement at the end January / (trusted sources) price range between X-E and X-PRO line / (new and anonymous sources) FujicaST-like design / (source who was right in the past, but not yet upgraded to the elite-team of trusted sources ) faster AF than the X-E2 / (new source) additional battery grip / (anonymous source) name: X-T1 / (anonymous sources)
The above was taken the from Fuji Rumors web site and it's about the rumoured X-T1. Now, assuming this is a real product and the designation is correct too, the if we base the T on previous designations such as P for Pro, E for Enthusiast etc, what do you think the T will stand for and what do you think this camera, if it is indeed a new camera, will be.

Titanium!!!
Ok, that might be too old school at this point. I am excited about this camera though... since no X-Pro1 update seems to be coming and I'm not a huge fan of the XE or the X100 as much these days.
The camera will be a faux DSLR EVF camera like the OMD and A7 apparently.

Currently my only true dslr is the sigma sd1 and my faux dslr em5. I do prefer thex100, xp1 and xe1 type form factor. This new dslr like camera body is not something I am excited about, but I will wait and see what it really looks like. One of the things that I wish that the fuji system would put on a camera body is a articulated LCD screen.. I miss have this capability from my days w/ the nex5n and r1. Even though I have it on my em5, I end up using the fuji more.

Buy a nice X-A1 or X-M1 used... leave the higher end models alone!

What good is a weather-sealed body if the lenses aren't also weather-sealed?

When I first heard of these rumors, that was the same thing I thought.
All new lenses??? ...or would something more akin to the X100 with its fixed lens be in the works?
Regardless, this is very exciting!

I think its going to be ILC. I personally do not understand the big bruhaha over weather sealing. Maybe its more important with digital bodies, but if I was going to shoot in pouring rain, I would have my gear in a raincoat regardless of weather sealing..
A weather sealed body with normal lenses that are fly by wire, does not make great sense.
However, Fuji is on a role, and it looks like the first picture of the camera has leaked. it is blurry and speculative but enjoy:

I think the weather sealing is just a buzz word selling point that all fuji's competitors have, so now they do too. I like to imagine how these corporate product development board meetings do down

@2WK. I think weather sealing is a buzz word too. Just like every digital wrist watch has something on its face about being water resistant or water proof down to 30 meter!
Here is a really good article about modern lens construction and "weather sealing."

An interesting update today from a different site Fuji rumors ..
- burst 8fps even w/ continuos af.
- new sd card support for the faster really expensive 240mbs cards
The xe2 is only 3fps in comparison. I would venture to guess they may have done more then add more cache buffering to support 8fps in continuos af. I would hope the digital processing path and data bus speeds were also improved to support the new higher rated sd cards which can do 240mbs..

That's got nothing to do with the camera. It's quoted as being announced later this month.Fuji fail.

Errr. That's my point.
Fuji Middle East has been posting these teaser images for several days. With the expected announcement of the X-T1, many thought these teasers were about the X-T1. Instead we, or the Middle East, gets the X-Robot.
X-Robot. Seriously? Fail.
