Fujifilm X-T1

Damn that RTS photo, now I keep thinking XT1 + speedbooster + CY distagon, planar, tessar...
what to sell, what to sell LOLOL

Wow really really really nice, great simple design, and very obvious how to use it easily with the visible dials, I suddenly got Massive GAS attack now !!!

I think that this is what the Nikon DF should have been, too bad, Nikon should have waited a bit more in order to be much much better inspired by this Fuji camera. I might be totally crazy to say this right now, but I predict that this camera will be at least five times more popular than the Nikon DF, unless it's ridiculously expensive...

nice to see the contax design back, but the DF has

OVF
Fullframe sensor

which for some users both are absolutely essential

I don t think those cameras compete directly on the market.

this new fuji goes more vs the E-M1 and A7 crowd

That is an extremely good looking design !
I am backtracking to catch up with this "rumor" now. My Nikon digital gear may (seriously) leave the building for this Fuji X.

EDIT: this design begs a comparison with Nikon's DF.

It is good to see Fuji continuing to provide options. It is a nice looking camera, but so are their other offerings. I hope they continue to be successful.

+1

I've got a nice m43 setup going, and I'm not about to change - BUT - holy cow, I like the look of that camera. I really hope when I upgrade from my EM1 in five years this has become "normal" and I can get a nice m43 body with that control layout (too bad I can't get aperture rings on my lenses, although thanks to the latest Pan/Lieca that may change).

I think Fuji is about to have a really compelling line up whether you like Rangefinders, SLRs, or finderless cameras. Well done Fuji.

Oops sorry mate, what I meant earlier was about the design only, that is, the Nikon DF should have look more like this particular Fuji camera, which I believe has a pure simple design and also very obvious how to use it by the look of its dials etc... :D

I don't see the comparison between this and the DF ... one's a DSLR with OVF and a full frame sensor and the other is a mirrorless with a crop sensor.

What are you lot smoking? :D

Keith,
That does not mean they shouldn't be compared. The Df may have bigger numbers, but that's not necessarliy what everyone needs (I don't).
I also think it's fair to compare a SLR with a rangefinder (for example) - that's how you decide which one you want !

We're all guilty of this for sure ... I keep comparing my DPMs to my Crown Graphic! :p

so, now the slr-like hump is actually cool? guess it depends who makes it...

nice looking camera, I like it as well.

It depends if it has a reason of existence
if there's a massive EVF hiding in there that would otherwise make for a massive camera, it's ok I guess
although, because I have a nose, I prefer corner viewfinders :)

I hope this camera will have the digital split screen. That way it would be a really nice platform for the speedbooster.
I guess the digital split screen will be more accurate than peaking.

I'm not sure what I think of this yet. I'd rather have a X-Pro1 replacement. That said, I may like this more than the X-E1/2 models. Looks nothing like its old film SLRs though so I hope they don't try to market it that way.

Compared to the Nikon Df, this camera seems much more refined, and I guess the 'pure photography' is better implemented..... but I'd like a look at the backside.

The best would be a screen that can be turned around to hide it à la R-D1...... and as few buttons as possible.

The Nikon Df is an ugly contraption, an overblown battleship of a camera.

Why is sensor size an issue?

http://www.falklumo.com/lumolabs/articles/equivalence/

Fujifilm has a diverse line of lenses optimized for their APS-C sensor.

Equivalent prime AF lens performance with the Df would be much more expensive and the lenses would be larger and heavier. Nikon manual focus lenses would be slower (with notable exceptions) and your only option is use their green dot or the rear LCD in LiveView mode.

But comparisons are premature since we don't know any details such as pixel count or price. Maybe the Fujifilm EVF is way behind Olympus' and SONY's offerings. Time will tell.

I can't agree with you, more.

I guess the back will be similar to the X-Pro1 and X-E2.
If the EVF is as good as the E-M1 then it will sell very well.
