Hi,
I tended to use fujilab in the uk a lot in the past for slide processing and send them a bunch of C41 films recently. Never seen such a poor show since the late 90ies. Negs are unsleaved, scratched and full of water marks. As I said never seen something that poor in years. They are not particularly cheap either. Never again! Such people are best suited to convert the last film user to digital. Needless to say, I am quite angry and sad.
Any suggestions for a good reliable mailorder lab for C41 in the UK at a reasonable price? -Ta-

dlab7.com. They're based in Guernsey and if I send them film on a Monday I normally get back negs/slides on Thursday.
Never had any problems with them.
Also metro colour lab in Birmingham never had any problems with them either, although only used them for slides.
Do you want prints as well? If not, I can recommend Snappy Snaps in Reading £2.60 for sleeved negs in < 24 hours.

Peak Imaging? Expensive but good. Just trying out club35, but haven't received the prints back yet.

Same dismal experience with Fujilab. I send my E6 and C41 films to dlab.7 like Kully. Troublefree service, always.

I am also a satisfied dlab7 customer, for both c41 and e6.

Hi,
many thanks for the suggestions. This reads as if dlab7 is an option. I used their filmshop a lot in the past and am not fully happy with their service, so I never trusted them with film. But if so many here are happy, I will consider them.
With respect to fujilab, there is a bit of comfort in that it is not just me. I send them 9 rolls. In the past I was reasonably happy with them, mostly E6. I am wondering whether there is a change in management and they went down the drain ...

Hi,
so I just send my next set of rolls to dlab7, after all the positive feedback here. Lets hope they do a better job. Thanks again for posting.

Fujilab used to be really good for C41, but recently they started to come back unsleaved, with very poor prints that even ASDA made a much better job of reprinting. They lost films and even processed them in the wrong chemistry. I do still use them for 120 E6, but for prints, I use Peak Imaging.
I believe that fuji outsource their processing to another company.

BTW, Peak Imaging have been faultless. Expensive but excellent.

Back to film
I vaguely recall that Fujilab had their business close to the fire in Hertfordshire in 2005 (?) and that after that, things went downhill for them. Perhaps they outsourced at that point. Just speculating.

7daylab are pretty decent, does anyone know a good reliable B&W postal place in the UK (don't have time to dev) that does 120 (the place I get my 35 done has stopped doing 120, go figure)

I always use peak imaging (for colour 35mm 120 and 4x5) and have never had any problems with them. They also do BW.

Just to say I recommend Peak Imaging too, for both colour and B&W.

Dunns in the West Midlands are good - I've no idea what their postal service is like as I usually just pop by the place. Decent prices too I think compared with other places. C-41, E-6 and B+W.
