We have the X-E1 currently with the 35mm lens. Interested to see what the 18mm lens looks like and photos taken with it. Obviously, I've seen the standard press shots of the 18, but how about some real world lens pron.

The photos posted are essentially for the players. The selects are being assembled as a project that I hope will appear somewhere other than flickr.

one strange thing i noticed this afternoon...i was looking at flickr photos taken with the zoom at 18 and the 18 itself...even though the zoom has been lauded as better than the 18 at 18...the images from the 18 seemed sharper to me.

There's more to apparent sharpness than resolution of some number of lp/mm. The 18/2 is not the greatest lens ever in terms of pure resolution, but it is exceptionally well-balanced and yields very, very good image quality — especially near full aperture. It has superb flare suppression (both veiling and reflections; see my examples above) and beautiful bokeh, and the AF system is very accurate.
