Full case or 1/2 case /

I have managed to pick up a used full case, minus that lovely strap , for the Fuji X-Pro 1 which I am awaiting. I am increasingly concerned with protecting my investment in these cameras which I have dragged out of the bargain corners .
I certainly could not afford to replace any of them

Of course , typically , I bought a cheap , discontinued , genuine leather full case for the Fuji X-M1 , but tend to use just the half case except when stored .
I like the handling of the X-M1 with the 1/2 case .

I am considering a used Fuji 1/2 case for the Fuji X-T1 as a full case may become too bulky for me [ I use a small leather bag at present , same as the M8 ].

With bulky DSLRs , I never considered a case , but the Fujis seem to lend themselves to echoes of my Minolta SRT/50mm/case history.
just wondering on thoughts in respect of the never ready cases .

In 45 years, I have never had a case for any of my cameras. I'm careful, but I don't mind if the get the odd nick or rub. They are primarily tools and meant to be used.

I'm usually using it if I have two cameras like Leicas.
If only one camera I don't usually need it. But with two cameras they are smashing against each other.
With two DSLRs I used Cotton DSLR holding system.
One DSLR was on the chest, another on the belt.

Every CV Bessa RF needs half-case. Their exterior material is nothewhere near to durable, if you are using them like a tool or just like any camera.

I find the full case rather too bulky and annoying to use.

Half the case is far better. It gives a nice grip to the camera, and serves as a measure of protection while the camera is being used.

These days, I use the tripod a lot, so I leave a tripod quick release plate on the bottom of the camera. I prefer the full length Arca-Swiss type plates. Since the vast majority of wear happens on the bottom of the camera, the plates can take the wear of being set down and picked up repeatedly. Naturally, there is no case in this situation.

I prefer a 1/2 case as well. I've never been hard on my gear, but as I get older I seem to be a bit less surefooted, so this is just added protection against the occasional bump.

I hate cases for cameras. The camera just doesn't feel right in my hands with either full or half case. I am careful and take good care of my cameras in a small camera bag unless I am shooting with them. - jim

I have gone for full cases , but I admit it's more of a style thing for the original X-Pro1 case , basic 1/2 case for the X-M1 with full case storage option [ dropped it once already ]
Inexpensive leather full case for new X-T1 for no other reason in because it replicates the old Minolta SLR /case habit .

I've been using the half-case on my GSN the last few months and grew to really like it. I just picked up a gently used Gariz case for my X100T (arrived today). Can't wait to use it. The extra grip and protection is attractive to me.

Still nothing on my F3 however. I love it as it sits and there is already some nice patina giving it well used character 🙂

Commando here. Except with the Bessa 3 because it has the worst strap lugs ever.
