Yep w/ the 27 it could almost be pocketable which is why I was thinking a 27 kit could be attractive to theses outside the normal target market.

For me no. Rx100 is still smaller. For Joe who does not like zooms at all... Will it be?
One of the things I realized was that over half the time I shoot @28 fov which means f1.8 in low light. Vs 2.8 for the new Ricoh. That means a good high iso 800 shots w/ the rx100 at 28mm @ f1.8 I need two stops --> iso 3200 for the f2.8 lens of the Ricoh or Nikon. The Ricoh has much better dynamic range and looks like it can go up to ISO 6400 very easy, but at end of the day, I rarely shoot in situations were I need to go above iso 1600.
The Ricoh or the Coolpix are better cameras then the rx100, but for how I use it, does it matter. Same could be said about the xm w/ 27 for me that is.

Corners look pretty good at f/8. There is still a hope that it's optically corrected. In such a case I might get it to make wait for 23mm less painful.

i keep thinking that the xm1 should replace my rx100...it's not as small but it takes all my xf lenses!!
i never put the rx100 in a pocket...if i am in motion and want the camera with me i throw it into my tiny terraclime 50, usually along with my iphone.
this new fuji would fit into the terraclime just as easily.
imagine having 3 bodies that could take my fuji lenses! plus it has that movable rear lcd!

There is talk (Rumour) of an XE-2 and X Pro-2 later this year.
I like the size of the x100s, and the XM-1 is even smaller- not sure if it might be too small ?

Why would Fuji not make new FF cameras and FF lenses?
There has been no need for Fuji to make FF lenses as long as they make small sensor cameras but that could change.

I do not need this XM-1, I do not need it even a little bit. But the price makes it attractive to me and the insides of me that have wanted one of the higher priced Fujis say I need this now.
But I want the 27 lens and it's expensive vs the larger kit lens which is only an extra $100 added to the body cost.
Someone please make me step away from this camera and take away my credit cards! 😀
