Gallery Picks for the week ending Mon 29th November 2010

and finally Chris's

L1002814.jpg

Congratulations to all of those who've had work mentioned. I missed half of last week so have missed a number of good images but the above are from those I did get to see.

Here's my selections for the week, as usual a great week:

Keith - "***"

I especially like this for the separation from the sharp colorful flowers in the foreground and the pastoral scene of the trees and water as a background, to me best of the series.

luiman - "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes_01"

Very nice composition, Like how the lamps accent and highlight the curve of the handrail, and the grey tones of the homes and night sky.

Biggles - "Flying Motorcycle"

As for moment, I can't see how this could have been caught and positioned in the frame any better then this. I like the grain in the clouds.

U2394I1290568168.SEQ.0.jpg

ellisson - "Bazaar Energy"

I can't count the number of times I pass by this place, and this just caught my eye. I like the colors of the evening light on the buildings with the lights in the vendors stalls offset against the blurred activity of the shoppers.

U10563I1290627280.SEQ.0.jpg

mgeary - "Taxi Cab"

I like shooting at night, not so much in the rain. This is excellent in so many ways, the action, refelections, details, focus on the woman, and the lighting of the downpour just above her umbrella.

U36951I1290637839.SEQ.0.jpg

robert blu - "church in giubiasco CH 1"

This is simple and the color and detail of the varied angles of the candles make it stand out.

U3692I1290791881.SEQ.0.jpg

Frank Petronio - "Bri"

Of course the shadow, but more the wry ironical look she has are what I like about this, and the cool hanuman tattoo.

U20258I1290919031.SEQ.0.jpg

tj01 - "IMG_0072"

I like the devotion in the awe inspiring atmosphere, also nice tones and relfections.

U34036I1290952532.SEQ.0.jpg

Mackinaw - "Beauty and Ruins"

Such and incongruous scene, and really not to harmonious for a wedding shot if it were one.

U1453I1290960025.SEQ.0.jpg

Eyal_bin - "*****"

Great symmetry in the hats, the three hands pointing in the opposite direction of the forth hand.

And here are my B&W picks:

Thank you very much for the mentions everyone (isorgb, petronious, pevelg, robklurfield, Carlos M, semrich, filmfan and gho), they truly mean a lot to me.

My picks for the week are...

Peter^

I'm a big fan of simple images, and this one really caught my eye. I like how the sky, the grass, the road and the tree all come together at a point
U25759I1290789034.SEQ.0.jpg

Luiman

Such strong composition here. I love the jagged road.
U28407I1290552916.SEQ.0.jpg

Jeicob

The separation of the three openings makes the image so pleasing. It's as though it is a painting and the 3 circles had been planned all along. Excellent.
