the m8-to-film-look is especially to be commended.

For anyone interested the m8-to-film-look was totally about my using Nik Software Silver Efex Pro 2, #019 Fine Art preset, Ilford HP5 Plus 400 Film Type, mostly Burn all Edges #1, and some limited Selective Adjustments Control Points. My demo expired today, I like the results enough that I just bought the complete Nik package for Aperture and Aperture to go with it. Now I've got the workflow to finish the shots I like, I'll be posting more as soon as I complete the laborious taks of deleting older work in the Gallery.

also, i love seeing gallery pix here in all their glory. it's a shame that we don't have a way to flick through gallery pictures in full size. i miss a lot with thumbnails.

Thumbnails do impact on how many views a picture will receive and whether it gets overlooked or immediately picked up on. It's a shame but I doubt there'll be much change there. However, to counterbalance that the gallery users here and the differing types of images posted mean that we get a pretty good 'heads-up' from other members. Flickr, despite the nice big pictures, doesn't offer the same scope IMO (if you stick to groups that mirror your interests and type of photography) of imagery and, I always found, that I missed the communal feeling to the comments left here. So much so, I usually have a quick flick through the 'Comments' section to see what has caught other peoples eye after I've gone through the gallery itself.
