Hello!
I'm having doubts about the best resolution to upload images in the Gallery. I used to do it at 1000px on the large side, but lately I'm doing at 1200px. In both cases, the resulting image is somehow scaled/expanded in my screen, looking blurred and pixelated. This happens to me in the Gallery and also in the threads, when I insert my pics. I see pictures from others (big or small) looking beautifully sharp, so is this only happening to me?

What I find rare is that the image is zoomed in, looking bigger than what actually is. I could try to upload at bigger resolution to see what happens, but I dont like when you have to scroll to see the whole photo...

I’d like to know as well. What’s done on Flickr, have never setup an account with them, but am considering it.

Most of my browsing is on an iPad, but the desktop has a high end 4K monitor.

This is a test:
at 1200px large side:

at 2000px large side:

Edit: Here, I see it much better.
So: I am breaking the rules if I start posting at 2000px (1,50mb)??

I think resolution has more to do with the clarity of the image, this is 1024 on the long side and 150dpi. What ever compression that the website uses might be what causes your clarity issues. This picture is tack sharp and contrasty on my monitor but a little soft viewed here .

Im sure someone must be thinking I know nothing. You are right.

@Darthfeeble , your 150dpi made me think. My pictures are always at 72dpi. So another try:

1200px at 72dpi:

1200px at 300dpi:

Edit: I see no difference at all...

I upload mine at 1024px on the long side @72dpi, and they look good to me. The 2 pictures in post #7 above look identical on my Macbook Air.

What I don't understand is why my images are resized and others from other members are not..... I see posts with little pics looking good, but mine fills the aviable space, resulting blurry.

I'm now posting at 1500px @ 72dpi. Looks a bit better to me, and the size is about 1mb per file.

I think I've got the thing of the resize problem, at least here in the threads: you have the option, via clicking on the image of fixing it at the size you want:

This one is uploaded to the gallery at 1260px:

This is the same, but resized to 800px:

So I guess you have to find the setting you like.
Wouldn't it be nice to have an option of NO-AUTO-RESIZE? Or at least a FIX ASPECT RATIO option when yoou resize...

Thanks anyway, I love RFF.
