Gallery upload impossible

Hi,

I have trouble uploading pictures to the gallery. My gallery contains eleven images, uploaded over the course of the last month, never more than four in a single day. Yesterday I uploaded three images, afterwards the system told me that I exceeded my daily upload limit of 10 images. Today I uploaded no images, and when I try to the system tells me that I exceeded my upload limit of 6 images. WTF?

I tried this using three browsers, from two machines, with or without clearing the RFF cookies, and my system clock is accurate.

But it's often down mid-morning EU time. I suspect for a daily back up.

Philipp, if you upload image to several categories, each counts as separate image.

Ah, Yevgeni, that explains a lot. Doesn't make sense IMHO, but I'll try to figure out how this works.

Well, to be honest it still doesn't make sense. There's something rotten in the state of Denmark. I've just uploaded two images, to "Member Galleries" and an album within my own gallery. Now the gallery tells me that I have exceeded my upload limit of 5 pictures per day. WTF?

- Why is my up limit getting less and less with every day? (10 - 6 - 5)
- How did the two pictures I uploaded get blown up to five? Two pictures with two categories each is four in my book.

Somehow Cross I is loaded into your member gallery twice. It doesn't show it twice, but it seems to be loaded twice.

I am not as familiar with the gallery admin/mod section so I did not find anything I could do to help or explain what may be going on. Will have to wait for Stephen for that.

OK, but http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=7345&ppuser=4985 only shows the two separate photos, loaded once each.

Something is clearly going wrong here.

This has happened to me before. After a couple of days I found that some photos that were originally rejected are still somehow "locked" in the system. Here's what I did. When you get the message again, go "back" and uncheck them all then try again. It's hit or miss but I'm back on track now.

I don't think I ever had a picture rejected by the gallery module.

I was able to upload my first pictures through a single image uploader, where there were own fields for camera, lens and exposure info. Now I only get the bulk upload interface. I've been looking high and low on how to re-activate singular upload, but no luck. Ideas?

I've had the same problem for quite some time and have found no solution, so I got a flickr account just to contribute to a thread now and then. Think I sent an e-mail about a year ago and never got a response. No big deal. I figure the admin's are busy and I enjoy reading the posts.

i refreshed the user groups. Also, I noticed the daily limit was set to 0. I set it to 20 for now just to see what happens. Stephen will need to say what the limit should be.

Anyway. give it a try.

I've been able to upload OK, but only through the bulk-upload interface, lately. As such it negates the possibility of adding camera/lens and exposure info. I rather liked the single upload facility.

My experience is that I can upload 7 images a day max 200KB each. If one fails (due to too large file) it still counts as an upload. I see however that other users can upload files of up to 300KB or more. Why I don't know.

I was trying to upload some pictures as well but the uploading queue never emptied out and now I couldn't upload anymore. Any clues? Thanks!
