I remember that it took forever for me to learn my 28/3.5 that I used on my CL. I never could learn my Vivitar 24 (for FD) that I had. Just too wide.

I'd like to buy myself a CV 25/4 someday in LTM; it's probably as wide as I'll ever be able to learn while also being one I might actually be able to afford someday.

Thanks for sharing your shot, joe. It's beautiful & I just wish I could "see" how to do it.

on the rd1, = 18 fov.

Your lower right corner of the snow scene photo is most revealing.

With a 18mm FoV-equivalent in an R-D1, I do not see "horrible" pixel-vignetting that was said to be the bane of RF digital... At least not in B/W work.

I had always questioned and now believe the M8 6-bits a myth. The 6-bit encoding was only supposed to help the camera firmware correct Leica lenses not wider than 21mm made since 1954...a mere 28mm FoV-equivalent.

While I am not a super-wide fan, I would now not hesitate to add a CV 15mm (23mm F0V equivalent) to my arsenal of CV 25/40mm in use with the R-D1. 😀

The CV12mm is a great lens, especially on an M8. I had one for some time but sold it to buy the latest CV 15mm M-mount RF linked lens. I'm hoping that CV might come out with the RF linked 12mm like they did for the 15mm sometime.
