Has anyone tried the various cheap ebay cokin style filters? I'm guessing that results would probably be sub-par, but for as cheap as they are it's almost worth a try, IMO. Opinions?

I used some of the original Cokins probably twenty or more years ago on a Hasselblad for wedding photography. They were plastic and did scratch fairly easily. At the time if I could have bought cheaper filters I would have jumped at the chance!
The sad truth is that cheap filters often seem to give as good a result as the premium lines of glass filters (but don't tell anybody).
