Hello,

I recently bought a GF1 with the 20mm pancake and at the same time I bought the voigtlander 40mm lens with the voigtlander adapter. Like the auto foucs of the 20 but not so thrilled with the results. I think the 40mm cv produces a better photo at anything above 1.4. I am thinking of selling the 20mm and buying a 12 or 15 voigtlander. Anyone have any comments about how either of these lenses will perform?

What was your problem with the Panny 20mm? I was impressed by mine, and it has come out well in technical tests AFAIK.

hi,

not really a problem with it but the skin tones of the voigt are much better. Isolated subjects also appear to be more better defined. Color is certainly more realistic with the voightlander.....and certainly the build quality. I find the 20mm to be quick and comact to use.

I'm sure you're already aware, but you'd be shifting from f1.7 to 4.5 and 5.6. Unless you're shooting complete daylight, you're really going to run into ISO limitations. On the other hand, it'll be much easier to prefocus. There's my two cents, which is probably worth exactly that.

you are correct and i have thought of that. I would probably not use either lens indoors without flash......not certain what to do..... i would pull the trigger and buy the 15mm if I could get some positive feedback on the results I could expect.

I use the cv 12mm on my E-P1. Lots of fun. I have no issues with it being f/5.6. I have a 24mm Lumix optical viewfinder for it. The DoF scale is off by two stops.
